# Wicksteed Park

Wicksteed Park offers something more flexible than a conventional ticket-at-the-gate theme-park day. In Kettering, parkland, meadows and lakes sit alongside amusement rides and children’s play. The grounds are free to enter, with ride products and parking forming separate decisions, so a mixed group can shape the outing around more than a single appetite for rides.

The appeal is the balance between activity and space. A family can build a ride-focused visit, while others may prefer a walk, time by the lake or a gentler shared circuit. Wicky’s Play Factory adds a separate indoor option aimed at younger children. Choose what matters to the group rather than assuming every attraction needs to be purchased or completed for the day to count.

### Planning your visit

Use the Barton Road entrance and check current parking and ride-access arrangements. Compare individual ride tickets with a wristband against the attractions each person can and wants to use. The park map, height guide and accessibility statement are more useful planning tools than a raw ride total. Leave room for a meal and an unhurried walk so the landscape is part of the experience rather than simply the distance between amusements.

## THMPRK Score

7.6 /10

Wicksteed earns a strong score for flexibility: free-entry parkland gives the day value beyond the rides, and families can choose how much amusement access to add. Its best fit is a group that appreciates both play and open space. Parking and the right ride product still belong in the budget.
