# Luna Park Melbourne

Luna Park is one of St Kilda’s most recognisable sights, with its face-shaped entrance turning an amusement-park visit into part of a Melbourne seaside outing. The compact site is best approached as a place with history and personality, rather than a competitor to Australia’s largest destination parks. It can be the centre of a family day or a colourful addition to time along the waterfront.

The Scenic Railway is the signature attraction, with Speedy Beetle and a wider selection of family and thrill rides offering different levels of excitement. Check the current lineup and boarding requirements before deciding how much riding you want. The park’s historic character matters as much as the size of its coaster collection.

### Planning your visit

Compare the available entry and riding options for each person, especially if some visitors mainly want the atmosphere. Combine the visit with a realistic St Kilda plan rather than rushing through on the way elsewhere. The operator publishes tram, train and parking guidance for the Lower Esplanade entrance. Allow time for a few repeated favourites and a meal instead of expecting a long-distance coaster marathon.

## THMPRK Score

6.5 /10

Luna Park earns its score through St Kilda character, a memorable entrance and the distinctive Scenic Railway. It is an appealing city-break stop when the group values atmosphere alongside rides. The compact offering is less convincing for visitors seeking a huge thrill collection, so the best value comes from choosing a riding product that matches the visit.
