Great Escape gives a Lake George holiday a change of pace: a day of coaster tracks, family rides and storybook roots in Queensbury. It is a park to enjoy with a mixed group, especially when the trip already includes time in the Adirondacks. The appeal lies in combining familiar amusement-park pleasures with a regional outing, rather than treating the visit as an expedition through a giant destination resort.

 

The Comet supplies the classic wooden-coaster draw, while Bobcat adds another wooden ride with a different scale and character. Canyon Blaster and the smaller family attractions broaden the choices. Hurricane Harbor offers a water-park component when its calendar and your ticket line up. Pick the rides that suit your party instead of letting the most dramatic track decide the entire day.
