Operated by NBCUniversal, the park features a variety of rides, attractions, and live shows themed around movies, television, and entertainment. The park’s development was influenced by the success of Universal Studios Hollywood in the 1980s, which inspired plans to establish a similar park in Orlando to compete with Walt Disney World. Key projects, including attractions developed with Steven Spielberg, shaped the early vision of Universal Studios Florida. Originally conceived as a working production studio and theme park hybrid, Universal Studios Florida eventually transitioned towards a more immersive guest experience. Collaborations with directors, producers, and actors brought iconic films to life through attractions like E.T. Adventure and Back to the Future: The Ride. One of the park’s standout features is The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which debuted in 2014 and includes Diagon Alley, captivating visitors with its detailed recreation of the magical world from the beloved book and film series. Universal Studios Florida hosts annual events like Halloween Horror Nights, where the park transforms into a Halloween-themed extravaganza with haunted houses and scare zones. Throughout its history, Universal Studios Florida has evolved from a production-focused studio tour to a dynamic theme park destination, offering guests immersive entertainment experiences that celebrate the magic of movies and television.
