Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how THMPRK, operated by Kiozu, LLC, handles information when you use thmprk.com. It covers our directory, guides, search, maps, fan voting, accounts, and communications with us. It does not cover the independent websites and services we link to. For questions or a privacy request, email [email protected].
The short version
- We use information to run the directory, respond to messages, protect the site, and record votes.
- A first-party identifier helps us remember a browser’s vote. Public fan scores show totals, not a list of voters.
- Our hosting and security services may process technical information about visits. External fonts and maps also connect to their providers.
- You can control cookies in your browser and contact us about information connected with you.
Information you provide
When you email us, we receive your email address, the contents of your message and attachments, and any name or other details you include. This includes suggestions, corrections, rights inquiries, and privacy requests. Please send only information needed for the request and avoid sensitive personal information.
If you create or use a WordPress account, the site processes account details such as your username, email address, password in protected form, account preferences, and activity associated with the account. Public-facing account information is limited to what a feature actually displays. Do not include private information in a public display name.
Information collected when you visit
Our website infrastructure and service providers may process your IP address, browser and device information, requested pages and resources, referring pages, timestamps, and diagnostic or security events. An IP address may indicate an approximate geographic area. This helps deliver pages, identify errors, prevent abuse, and keep the site available.
Search terms, filter selections, and page addresses may appear in requests and server logs. Avoid entering personal or confidential information into the directory search. We do not require precise device location to browse the directory or view a venue map.
Fan voting and identifiers
When you vote, we record the place or story, your thumbs-up or thumbs-down choice, and the time. For a signed-in voter, the record is associated with the account. For an anonymous voter, a signed first-party browser identifier is used to recognize that browser. The voting cookie is set to last for up to one year, unless you or your browser remove it sooner.
The voting system stores a protected representation of the anonymous identifier rather than displaying it publicly. It also uses a short-lived, protected network identifier for rate limiting, normally for one hour. That voting safeguard does not store the raw IP address in the vote record; separate hosting and security logs may still contain IP addresses.
We use these records to remember or change your vote, calculate fan scores, limit repeated voting, and investigate abuse. Public results show combined counts and percentages. Imported totals from an earlier system may be retained with an internal import audit; a total alone does not identify an individual voter. Clearing cookies, changing browsers, or using another device can affect whether the site recognizes an earlier anonymous vote.
Cookies and browser storage
Cookies and similar storage support authentication, browser voting identifiers, security, and preferences. WordPress login cookies are used when you sign in. Security providers may use identifiers or challenge cookies to protect access. Features may also use local browser storage to preserve an interface preference.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Doing so can sign you out, reset preferences, or prevent voting controls from recognizing a previous choice. Where we provide additional consent or preference controls, you can use them for the choices they cover. Necessary operational cookies and any optional tracking serve different purposes; we will seek consent for optional technologies where required.
Fonts, maps, links, and external services
Our pages use Google Fonts. Loading externally hosted font files connects your browser to Google’s servers, which can receive technical request information such as your IP address and browser headers. See Google’s Privacy Policy for its practices.
When you choose to display a map, your browser requests map resources, including OpenStreetMap tiles. The tile provider receives the technical information needed to deliver those resources. The displayed pin represents a venue’s location, not your device location. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation Privacy Policy.
Cloudflare and our hosting providers help deliver and protect the site and may process request and security information. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy. Following an official venue link, an outbound directions link, or another external link takes you to a separate service whose own privacy policy applies.
Analytics and optional services
Google’s site tag and Google Analytics help us understand page views, referral sources, on-site interactions, device and browser types, and approximate location. These services can use cookies and identifiers to measure visits. We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, or private message contents to Analytics. Cloudflare’s performance beacon also helps measure page delivery and performance. Provider processing and retention depend on the service and its configuration.
You can limit measurement through browser settings, available cookie controls, privacy extensions, and the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Where consent is required, optional tracking must be subject to the applicable consent choices.
If we introduce advertising, affiliate tracking, video embeds, newsletters, or additional interactive services, those features may involve further identifiers, usage information, and providers. We will describe material changes here and provide applicable notices and choices when those services are introduced.
How we use information
- Deliver and maintain the site, its accounts, search, maps, and voting features.
- Answer requests, correct listings, and review material sent to us.
- Calculate and display public voting totals and maintain import and moderation records.
- Troubleshoot failures, monitor availability, prevent manipulation, and protect accounts and infrastructure.
- Meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect our rights and the rights of others.
Where applicable data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on providing a requested service, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the directory, compliance with legal obligations, or consent where required. You may withdraw consent for processing based on consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.
When information is shared
Information may be handled by providers that support hosting, security, email delivery, technical maintenance, and the external resources described above. We may also disclose information when legally required, to investigate abuse or protect rights and safety, at your direction, or as part of a business transaction involving THMPRK or Kiozu, LLC subject to applicable safeguards.
Material you specifically ask us to publish may become public, including on alternate Markdown or machine-readable versions of a page. Ordinary private emails are not automatically published. Public material can be indexed, copied, or retained by search engines and other readers outside our control.
We do not sell personal information for money. If a service we introduce involves activities classified as a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising under applicable law, we will provide the required information and opt-out mechanisms. You can also email us with the subject “Do Not Sell or Share” to raise a request.
Retention and security
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including security, recordkeeping, and legal requirements. Account records generally remain while the account is active; correspondence may remain as needed to resolve and document an inquiry. Voting records may remain to maintain accurate totals and prevent abuse. A cookie’s expiry does not automatically delete the related server record. Logs, backups, and provider records have their own operational retention periods.
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information and service. No website, email system, or internet transmission can guarantee complete security. Contact us if you believe information or an account has been compromised.
Your choices and privacy rights
Email [email protected] with “Privacy Request” in the subject line. Depending on your location and the law that applies, you may have rights to access or receive a copy of personal information, correct it, request deletion, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, or opt out of certain sharing or advertising. California residents may have additional rights concerning categories of information collected and disclosed and, where applicable, sensitive personal information. We do not intentionally use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.
We may need information to verify your identity or an authorized agent’s authority before fulfilling a request. Do not email passwords or identity documents unless we establish an appropriate, necessary process with you. An anonymous vote may be difficult to locate if its browser identifier is no longer available. Legal, security, and other permitted exceptions may limit a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
Where applicable, you may appeal a privacy decision or complain to your data protection authority. Contact us for the applicable request or appeal process. Browser privacy settings can also limit third-party requests and cookies. “Do Not Track” and Global Privacy Control are different signals; applicable opt-out preference signals will be handled as required by law.

Browser-local park shortlists
The Save and Compare tools store public place IDs in your browser’s local storage. These selections are not tied to an account or sent to an advertising or analytics service by these tools. You can clear a list using its controls or remove it by clearing this site’s browser data. When you share or open a shortlist link, its selected public place IDs appear in the URL and are sent to the website to display the list. Anyone with the link can view the selected places.
Correction submissions
If you use the correction form, its place reference, description and source link are stored privately for administrator review. Do not include sensitive personal information. The form does not automatically publish your submission or send an email. A temporary non-reversible identifier derived from the request address is used to limit repeated submissions and expires automatically. You can contact [email protected] about a submission or privacy request.
