Engineering meets an imagined Europe
Europa-Park welcomed visitors to Rust on 12 July 1975. Its Mack-family origins connect the operation of a park with the engineering of amusement rides. European-themed areas subsequently became a defining feature of the visitor environment. The park’s history therefore brings together two kinds of design: the technical work of creating attractions and the scenic work of turning a visit into a journey between imagined places.
