A modern theme park in the capital
Happy Valley Beijing opened in 2006 in Chaoyang District. Beijing’s official tourism account describes a park organized into themed areas, including Wild Fjord and Lost Maya. The development brought rides, performances and designed landscapes into a coordinated setting. Its history is a different chapter from the capital’s imperial gardens and heritage attractions: this was a new entertainment environment built around the theme-park format.
