PortAventura began in 1995, with the Dragon Khan roller coaster among its opening-era attractions. The operator’s anniversary account places that debut at the start of the resort’s development. The park brought several themed environments into one destination within a major holiday region. Its history is therefore linked to the growth of destination entertainment, rather than only the installation of a single landmark ride.
