Atlantis Sanya had a soft opening in February 2018 and officially opened in April of that year, according to Fosun’s corporate reporting. The difference between those milestones matters: an early operating period and a formal opening can both appear in accounts of the same destination. The project belongs to a resort-led model of aquatic entertainment, with accommodation and major leisure facilities developed together.
