The showman chooses Penha

Beto Carrero World opened at Penha in December 1991. Its founder was already an entertainer and entrepreneur, so the park’s origins connect performance with the creation of a permanent visitor destination. The site became a physical expression of the Beto Carrero identity. This is the historical thread behind the name: a park associated with a particular showman, rather than a place named after a geographical landmark.
