A civic celebration leaves an amusement landmark
Liseberg opened in 1923 during Gothenburg’s three-hundredth-anniversary celebrations. The park continued beyond the event, becoming a permanent part of the city’s entertainment landscape. Its beginning connects public celebration with a lasting place for rides, performances and gathering. The 1923 date is therefore more than an isolated founding year: it links the park to a specific moment in Gothenburg’s civic history.
