About Busan Children’s Grand Park

Busan Children’s Grand Park is the city at a quieter register: wooded paths, reservoir views and hills that make an ordinary family walk feel like an excursion. On the slopes between Baegyangsan and Geumjeongsan, the former Seongjigok Reservoir gives the landscape its centre of gravity. Come to follow the water, find a comfortable patch of shade and give the children room to explore without a day dictated by queues.

This is an urban nature park with a broad recreational setting, rather than a compact collection of theme-park rides. Gardens, streams, sports facilities and routes into the surrounding hills give different groups different ways to use it. A short walk and a longer hillside outing are both possible; the right choice depends more on the group’s energy than on an attraction checklist. Separately managed facilities have their own admission and operating arrangements.

The most satisfying visit leaves time to stop. Choose a manageable route around the reservoir area, bring water and let the wooded setting provide the change of pace. It makes a useful counterpoint to Busan’s shopping districts and waterfront sightseeing, especially when the family wants an outing whose main pleasure is being outside together.

Planning your visit

Arrive at the Saessak-ro park entrance and choose a walk that suits the group’s energy and mobility. The main public park has free admission, with parking and any separately managed attractions following their own arrangements. Leave time to sit by the reservoir rather than turning the visit into a long compulsory circuit. Check the current status of individual play areas and any paid facilities before making them the reason for the trip.

THMPRK Score

7.5 / 10

Busan Children’s Grand Park earns its score for making a substantial wooded landscape available within the city. The reservoir and walking routes offer strong value for families happy to explore at their own pace. It works best as a nature-and-play outing, with realistic expectations about slopes and separately managed facilities.
