About Kennywood
Kennywood rewards an interest in amusement parks as places with memory as well as momentum. In West Mifflin, near Pittsburgh, wooden coasters and newer steel rides give the day a welcome range of eras and sensations. It is an especially compelling choice for visitors who want the older attractions to be part of the main event, rather than background scenery around a new headliner.
Jack Rabbit, Racer and Thunderbolt anchor the wooden-coaster collection. Phantom's Revenge and Sky Rocket add a different kind of pace, with smaller rides widening the choices for a mixed party. Taken together, the lineup is more interesting than a simple list of heights and speeds: the contrast between rides is a large part of the reason to come.

Planning your visit
Make time for the older coasters alongside your thrill priorities. Use the official West Mifflin address rather than navigating only to Pittsburgh, and include parking, meals and any optional queue product in the comparison. Read the current ride and access information before buying. A relaxed meal and a few repeat rides will usually make a more satisfying day than trying to turn the park into a race.
